What an interesting collection of sketchbooks, tools, and works in progress we shared at our January meeting. We enjoyed hearing some of the stories and challenges behind the drawings. Denise Wilson brought her portable watercolor set that she uses to sketch; it is compact and easy to travel with and quite a few of us made special note of it. Jeanne Bogar shared her DuraLar work in progress. Very colorful and so interesting to see her process of testing colors on both the front and back of the film.
After our show and tell, we spent the last part of the meeting watching the 27th International Exhibit and the Explore This! 15 slideshow.
It was decided that we have enough interest to have a show at the Starline Gallery in May 2020. This will not be a juried show and the entry fee is only $25 per artist (not per artwork.) If a piece sells the gallery gets a 20% commission; the show will include Starline's 4th Friday event. More information will be coming soon.
Don't forget to fill out the Melissa Miller Nece questionnaire to decide what her focus will be for the October 2020 Workshop. You can find the questionnaire here, a paper copy is available at our meetings or email Linda Hilderbrant.
We're asking members to think about a possible project for our upcoming Convention piece.
We will be nominating and voting for a new President and Treasurer at our May meeting. Descriptions of duties of both positions will be posted soon. If you are interested in either position please contact one of the board members either through email or at one of the meetings.
